The Kia PV7 is coming.
Kia revealed it on 14 September. It goes on sale in the second half of 2027. A Campal for the PV7 is in development, and this list hears first.
Kia PV7 Camper Conversion Kit.
In development at Campal.
Made in the UK | 3-Year Warranty | 100% Birch Plywood | Zero Permanent Modifications
Kia revealed the PV7 on 14 September at IAA Transportation in Hannover, and it is the big one. It is 655mm longer than the PV5 we already build for, with 500mm more between the axles, which is a lot more room to work with in a vehicle you can still park outside your house.
It goes on sale in the second half of 2027, which is a longer wait than the PV5 was.
We have wanted a canvas like this for a long time. A Campal for the PV7 is in development, and the people on this page will hear about it first.
Our kit in the Kia PV5. The PV7 version is in development.
Why we are excited about this one.
Martin has spent years making campervans out of cars that were never designed to be campervans. His words:
Our only limitation is the internal dimension of a car.
The PV7 lifts that limit. The extra length in particular changes what is possible: headroom over the bed, where the kitchen slides out, and how much storage sits under the platform are all constrained by the same few centimetres today. That is a rare thing. Most new vehicles give you one of those and take away another.
We are not going to design it in our heads, though. We are going to measure one.
What Kia has confirmed.
These are Kia's preliminary figures from the premiere. Full UK specifications and prices have not been announced yet.
Size. The PV7 Long measures 5,350mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,990mm high, on a 3,500mm wheelbase. Against the PV5 Passenger at 4,695 x 1,895 x 1,915mm on a 3,000mm wheelbase, that is 655mm more length, 500mm more wheelbase and 75mm more height. It still slips under a two metre car park barrier.
Shape. A flat floor, and a load height of 550mm.
Versions. Passenger comes in two lengths, Compact and Long. The seven-seat version has easy-remove seats, and the nine-seat version can be had with or without a fourth row.
Rear access. Either full-opening twin doors or a conventional lift-up tailgate, depending on what the buyer specifies.
Battery and range. 71.5kWh or 96.2kWh, more than 285 miles on the Long Range Cargo, and 800V charging that takes the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in the mid-twenty minutes on a 350kW charger.
What that means for a conversion.
Three things stood out to us.
The lift-up tailgate being on the options list matters more than any other single item. Every photograph on this site of a Campal in use has the tailgate up and the bed out under it. Twin doors work differently, and knowing a tailgate can be specified tells us the way people actually use these kits is available on the PV7.
The easy-remove seats on the seven-seat Passenger are the other one. A Campal is designed around what the vehicle leaves behind when the seats are out of the way, so a factory seat design meant to come out easily is a good sign rather than an obstacle.
The 550mm load height and the flat floor are straightforwardly good news for getting in and out of a bed platform.
What we still do not know. Kia has not published the interior load length, the width between the wheel arches, the interior height at the back, or what floor the Passenger's rear seats leave behind when they fold or come out. Those are the four numbers that decide what a Campal for this van actually looks like, and none of them are public yet.
Will a Campal fit the Kia PV7?
Not yet, and anyone telling you otherwise has not measured it either.
Here is how we find out. When a vehicle is new to us we get hold of one and build to that car, not to a brochure. We build to the exact specifications of the physical vehicles on the road. The first customer for any new fit comes to us and has it fitted here, because we insist on testing it in the actual vehicle before we send one out.
That is why our kits fit. It is also why we will not promise a PV7 kit before we have had a PV7 in front of us. Lisa and Martin are travelling to Germany to see the PV7 in person rather than waiting for one to reach a UK showroom.
What happens next.
Done, 14 September 2026.
Kia revealed the PV7 and published its first specifications. What they said, and what it means for a conversion, is above.
Next.
Lisa and Martin see a PV7 in Germany and measure it themselves.
Then.
We design, prototype and test the kit in the vehicle, the way we do every one.
You.
Get an email at each of those points, before it goes anywhere else.
How is the PV7 different from the Kia PV5?
The PV7 is the larger vehicle in Kia's van range, sitting above the PV5 we already build for. On Kia's preliminary figures the Long is 655mm longer, 100mm wider and 75mm taller than the PV5 Passenger, with 500mm more wheelbase.
That matters more than it sounds. A Campal is cut for one vehicle's exact interior, so a larger van is not the same kit made bigger. The PV7's boot and rear seats will need their own design rather than a PV5 kit dropped in. How much of our existing work carries over is one of the first things we will find out.

What is a Campal?
A Campal turns a car that was never designed to be a campervan into one for the weekend, then comes back out again.
The unit drops into the boot, secures to the vehicle's existing floor system, and needs no drilling, cutting or permanent modification. Your seats stay in. The car stays a car Monday to Friday. Setting it up takes under five minutes.
Every unit is CNC-machined from birch plywood, made to order in the UK, and carries a three-year warranty. All exposed edges are sanded, routed and hand-varnished.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
When is the Kia PV7 released?
Kia revealed the PV7 on 14 September 2026 at IAA Transportation in Hannover. It goes on sale in the second half of 2027. Kia has not yet announced full UK specifications or prices.
How big is the Kia PV7?
On Kia's preliminary figures the PV7 Long is 5,350mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,990mm high, on a 3,500mm wheelbase, with a 550mm load height and a flat floor. That makes it 655mm longer and 75mm taller than the Kia PV5 Passenger.
Will the Campal PV5 kit fit the Kia PV7?
No. Each Campal is made to the exact internal dimensions of one vehicle, so a kit built for the PV5 Passenger will not fit a PV7. A Campal for the PV7 is in development.
Are Campal making a kit for the Kia PV7?
Yes, it is in development. Kia has published the vehicle's outside dimensions but not the interior measurements a conversion depends on, so we are waiting on those and on getting a PV7 in front of us to measure ourselves before we commit to a design.
When will the Campal for Kia PV7 be available?
The vehicle itself does not go on sale until the second half of 2027, so a kit cannot arrive before then. We will not put a date on ours until we have measured a PV7 and built to it. Join the waitlist and you will hear at each step.
How much will the Campal for Kia PV7 cost?
We will price it once the design is settled. Our kit for the Kia PV5 Passenger is £2,450 as a guide to the sort of product this is.
How do I hear first?
Join the waitlist on this page. We will email you when the design is confirmed and again when it goes on sale. If you would rather talk to a person, get in touch and ask for Lisa.
