- Honest lifting advice: You cannot lift a complete double or single unit on your own due to its size and weight. However, one person can easily install it if they disconnect the bed and take the drawers out first, then lift the lighter floor and housing into the boot.
- Fixing & safety: In MPVs like the Partner Tepee or Rifter, the module clamps securely, and the rear seats act as a physical back-stop (especially useful with systems like the Campal Elevate).
- Making the bed: Switching from day mode to bed mode takes just 2 or 3 minutes.
What you actually need for your first weekend away
Most disappointment in micro-camping comes from missing the “boring basics,” not from the bed itself.
Plan your first trip around the essentials: a comfortable sleeping setup, thermal blinds for warmth and privacy, and a realistic cooking plan. Do not pack household contents; micro-camping is about minimalism.

Can I keep my rear seats in my Peugeot Partner or Rifter? Absolutely. That is the main benefit of a removable camping box. The module sits in the boot, and the bed platform folds out over your folded rear seats. When the bed is packed away, your 5 seats are fully usable for passengers.
Where do cooking and power live? We do not make specific compartments for fridges or large power packs because they come in too many different sizes, and storing tall fridges under the bed ruins internal headroom. We advise placing cool boxes on the seats while driving.
